The Affordable Care Act makes it possible for 90% of Americans to be covered by health insurance. That is the highest percent of insured Americans in our history. The Republicans call that a failure. Given that high standard for success, the American people should reasonably expect nothing less than a replacement plan that covers more than 90% of Americans. By the GOP’s on standards, anything less would be a failure.
Furthermore, no replacement plan can be called successful if it in any way weakens the financial condition of Medicare or cut benefits to those on Medicare.
Hopefully, the Republicans will not be in such a hurry that they lose sight of the high standards that they have set for health insurance coverage in America.
This New York Times article indicates that they want to do it all “Very Quickly.”
